☆7 [action] starting at House 10, ending up all over Luceti

[Since people are out and about, Beat's been skateboarding a lot more, but... Well, he does feel a little bad that he basically skipped town on Shiki's lesson and then had Roy wheelbarrow him out of there. To make up for it today, he's sitting in his room and reading. Or trying to. The journal just might pick him up as he tries his best.]

..."My hat is"...goh-neh? What? Uh...Goon?

"Gone. My hat is gone. I want it back."

...The hell?

"Have you..." ...uh...

[OOC: Beat is going to be chased around Luceti looking for a place to read in peace. Feel free to have him show up anywhere including in your kitchen for who knows what reason. o/]

[Hello strange person sitting outside her house and reading stuff. What a strange place to read... Not that Yotsuba minds at all given she recognises that book.

Poking her head out of one of the windows and asking Beat in the most 'hello I am a bear and I have lost my hat' tone of voice she can muster:]

[After working herself to exhaustion the week before and the bruising from her fall the week before that, Adele has attempted to take at least one day for herself a week. She sleeps in, wanders downstairs to the kitchen of house 44 and...blinks at a young man reading at the table. A young, not altogether unfamiliar man.]

[Gold was heading out of House 11 for another day of excitement and fun. Today was going to be just great.

What he didn't expect, however, was to encounter Beat sitting on his doorstep, reading. Seriously, didn't see him at all, which is why he trips and tumbles right over him.]

[Beat, why are you sitting at the back of the Seventh Heaven as if you're trying to hide while reading. Luka blinks at the scene she finds when looking through the back window of the restaurant and slowly makes her way out to kneel besides him and watch him read attentively. She is currently working but things are calm yet so she thinks she can take a small break for this.]

[Oh, she heard what he's doing. But she's not going to say anything over the journal. In fact, she's just going to sneak up the stairs and creep over to Beat's bedroom door, prodding it open a little bit.]

[OH GOD WHAT. He jumps and throws the book - and his journal - straight out the window.]

[Absorbed in his book, Beat does not notice Luka as she creepers comes over and and kneels down next to him. He's trying to figure out this word. It is taking him forever. Oh my God, why is reading so hard. Hnnnnnngh.]

[Bang boom pow and they are both on the ground at the bottom of the steps. Ouch. Thanks, bro. Now he lost his place in the book - wherever said book has flown off to.]

[Hearing someone call his name makes him jump and him jumping means he throws the book straight up into the air. It smacks against the ceiling, bounces off and lands somewhere behind him as he looks up to see Adele.]

....Huh? Whatchu doin' here?

Oh. Have you seen--

[Wait. Beat turns his head and looks over, seeing a little green haired girl next to him. ]

[He flips the book off his lap and into a nearby bush.]

Where the hell you come from?!

[Adele flinches and jerks back at that explosion of movement, blinking at him once he's settled.]

[Amelia isn't really paying attention, and misses the fact that Beat is trying to read. To her, it just looks like he's looking over the bridge railing, asking about his hat.

...Makes about as much sense as anything in Luceti does.]

Did a fish steal it?

Beat stops and looks around.]

[HOLY CRAP THIS ISN'T HIS HOUSE.]

[He looks over the book. No...that isn't how that next line is read. I knows the word 'fish' - food is important to know - but it isn't in--

He stops and turns slowly, looking up at Amelia.]

[And brb, throwing the book as far into the bushes on the opposite end of the river as he can.]

...I am so glad no one else is attempting to sleep at this hour. [She shakes her head with a soft chuckle and moves to the coffee maker, stepping over the book he'd dropped earlier.]

I do not know. The doors are all still locked, so unless you chose to climb in through a window...

Amelia pauses just for the weirdness factor. After the day she's had, the distraction is almost welcome.]

[To be honest, that is entirely possible. Beat gets up and steals his book back, stuffing it under his shirt so she can't see it. Not that it isn't obvious, but yeah.

He deflates and rubs the back of his head.]

It is alright Beat. You are far more pleasant company than the last intruder we had in our kitchen. Doubly so since you are not trying to take apart the coffeemaker. [Another soft smile and laugh as she goes through her ritual of filling the reservoir, grinding and measuring the beans, and filling the filter.]

What is it you were reading so intently, if I might ask?

[ Don't mind this creeper sneaking up RIGHT BEHIND YOU and leaning over your shoulder right outside the library. ] What a strange book you have there. No souls trapped within it, are there?

[ That is totally a normal question to ask. He's been meaning to look for that book for awhile but it hasn't shown up yet, oh well. He really needs it back but, well, with no such luck he might as well ask when he sees one. ]
