[He is not dealing with the draft announcement well. The idea of going is bad enough, but his sister going? Unforgivable. He needs a distraction like a fish needs water and he's going to do it in the only way he knows how.]

But you guys said you wanna learn to skate and I'm in a skatin' mood.
Meet me at the B-Dome in twenty!
And any other dudes who wanna skate or learn ta' skate, you can come, too. B-Dome's got the boards, you just gotta bring yo' own self.

As promised, Beat is at the Battledome about twenty minutes later, punching in the simulation needed for a big skateboard park with its own skateboards and everything. He has his, of course, and his brow is furrowed, not out of concentration, but for trying to not think about something for once. He never thought he'd have this problem.

Um, actually, I have no idea. You're going to have from square one with me.

He nods his head a few times. Total beginner. Alright, he can do this. First thing first is to show her what a board is and what it can do.
He turns and grabs his skateboard from where it's leaning up against the control panel and holds it out to her.]
They look like this; got four wheels and a curved board on 'em and this thing here--
[He points at the raised edge in the back]
--is so you can step on it and pop it up. Ain't too much to 'em, but you gotta have balance or you gonna fall on yo' butt a lot.
action; -LATE! Was away at a convention, sorry!
Alright. I think I have pretty good balance, so I don't think that will be too much of an issue. How exactly do you ride it?
action; no worries! Did you have fun? :D
[He'd been waiting for that question. Even if the simulation isn't up yet, he can show her how it works here in the lobby. Beat drops the skateboard to the ground and steps onto it, then pushes off with one foot and gets a nice roll going, picking up speed as he curves around the area. He glides by and does a simple trick, jumping and causing the board under him to barrel roll beneath his feet. He lands on all four wheels and kicks off a few more times, jumping with the board this time to slide along a railing before he comes back to where she is.]
Easy, yeah?

That is really neat! Do people normally travel by this in your world?

Naw, jus' the cool ones.
Told my sis I'd be the best skater in the world so I gotta keep at it, yanno?

Yeah, but I gotta get better. My pins help me get air, but you can't really use 'em outside a' the UG.
action; I'm such an awesome ghost. Being able to type and stuff!
action; but are you a -friendly- ghost?
[He digs into his pocket and pulls out two pins, or can badges, and shows them to Suki.]
They're these things we use in the UG called Psychos or somethin' - I dunno. Pretty damn useful, but I only got these two. Means I can catch some sick heights though.
action; Casper ain't got nothin' on me!
Well, this means you're going to have to show me. You know that right?

You ain't gotta ask me twice!
[He shoves the pins back into his pocket and drops his skateboard on the ground, getting on it. To give himself a little space, he rolls backwards and then jumps.
Straight up 10 feet into the air.
And he's just going to hang out up here. Wassup, Suki.]
action; I'll do you proud!!!
Beat! That is amazing! How did you-? Holy Spirits! You're like an airbender! [Her impressed? Maybe a little.]
action; ;u;/ go forth and seek lightning
He drops back to the earth and kicks the board up into his hands again.]
I'm gonna learn to do it when I ain't dead, too, then I'm gonna be the best skater in the world.
But you oughta see Phones, yo. He can shoot fire and ice an' stuff. He's some kinda whiz kid wit' these Psychos.
action; i'll make you proud! /flies away
[Talk about being distracted. Suki is just gonna ask about everything else BUT skateboarding.]
action; ;u; oh my bb-highlanderghost is all grown up!!!
[Oh, right. He shrugs.]
I'm dead. Ain't no big deal. Shiki an' Phones said we win the Game so I ain't gonna be dead forever.
