Beat spent most of that time being anywhere but home, not contacting anyone, not doing anything, but trying to figure out where she'd come back at and wait there. But he doesn't know, doesn't even know how much longer it'll be until she comes back. And eventually he knows he has to tell people where they've been.]

...she didn't make it. Ribbons, I know you got us that stuff, but...

[He rubs his arm nervously. What could he do to make this guy feel better?]

[He bites his lip, realizing his mistake and squeezes his shoulder.]

I don't care if you're not staying here for now, just try to keep yourself somewhat in order.

[...There. That's better. That sounds a little more like her. She thinks]

I'll be right back. [Suki made sure to keep smiling for Beat. But she stepped away, very worried about her new friend, and went to get him some tea. She returned a few moments later with some tea and two cups: one for him and on for her.]

Drink up.

Yes. It's stupid. It's irrational, and it's unfair. It's random, cruel, and difficult.

But all the same, it's worth living. That's why the two of you struggle onwards, isn't it?
