Day 3 and On

Hey Luceti. Do you like sharks? Because there is now a shark with little yellow wings swimming around Luceti. Quite literally. As in, it's a shark that can swim through the ground and will occasionally pop up out of said ground and look confused. Luckily for you, Luceti, said shark also has little thought bubbles that sometimes come up. Good luck reading them, though.

Well, least you can read me. And naw, I'm just a kid. Name's Beat. Who're you? And why you throwin' cookies??

U-um. My name's Pilouette. I-I thought you were a shark! You know? I wasn't about to like, let a shark bite off my leg or something and I wasn't really thinking about it and I just...kind of. Threw it.

[Oh geez, she feels so dumb right now.]

....Man, n' I thought my name was bad..... Pillow? Aight, coo', I guess.

Well, you have to admit, you totally look like a shark. I mean, how was I supposed to know?!

[ Got it in one try. Very difficult, that. Though the humor in the Noise form Beat's stuck in is far from lost on Joshua. Unfortunately he has a large shark heading at him right now, and this looks a good deal trickier to handle than a simple Reaper-turned-Player.

Joshua raises a purple claw, and when the other Noise gets near enough to him, he swipes.

Just one attack can't hurt too bad, right? ]

[That's a shark going through town. Aang's not going to question it. He's going to try to ride it.]

S'what I said. Thought. Eh.

And I don't look like a shark! I look like a kid turned inta' a shark!

[OW WHAT THE HELL. Swing Sharks are not that tough!!!

Beat jumps back and disappears under the earth.]

[SHAAAAAAAAAARK-- whoa what???

Beat feels something hitting his back and he jumps through the air.]

W-what?!

[Wow, I jumped the shark! He cheered. It was too long since he had gotten to properly ride a new animal. But what was that voice he heard?]

This is so fun!

[WHY IS SOMEONE RIDING HIM?!

And up go the thought bubbles:]

WHY IS SOMEONE RIDIN' ME?! Hey! Hey! I ain't yo' surfboard! Whatchu think you doin'?

Pfft! You totally look like a shark! You have a fin and big sharky teeth and everything! But, if you say you're a kid...well, I don't really have any reason not believe you with all the other weird stuff going on right now.

I guess as long as you're not biting anyone, there's nothing to worry about. ...You're...you're not biting people, right?

Well, I ain't and I'm a kid, aight?

And no, I ain't bitin' nobody. Only thing I wanna bite right now is a burger.

[The thoughts pop up before him, just like those ones he saw and definitely didn't hear just a moment ago. He tears himself away from his excitement enough to make out most of the message and then he leans down to talk to the shark.]

Is that you making those words, Mr. Shark?

I believe you, okay? Golly...!

Good luck getting that burger, though. I mean, that probably won't be too easy for a shark, huh? Though, I guess if people can see what you're thinking, maybe it won't be so hard after all...But if you're a shark right now, I don't think ONE burger is gonna be enough. Sharks eat a lot, right?

[More thought bubbles!]

That ain't my name! And why're you ridin' me?!

It's fun! The kind of fun I haven't had in a long time. And what is your name, then, friend? [He pats his fin reassuringly.]

Huh? Oh, uh, name's Beat. Why you ain't havin' no fun?

...I dunno. Noise eat otha' Noise n' Players n' stuff. I ain't never seen one eat a burger.

Beat? I talked to a human with that name once! Isn't that funny? [That was way back when he first arrived...] And I do have my share of fun. But there's nothing quite like the experience of riding an awesome animal! It is kinda weird when they can talk back...

Tha's 'cause it was me! I'm Beat! I ain't no animal neither. I'm a Noise. Not that I'm supposed ta' be a Noise, but those stupid Malwhatsits turned me inta' one. What happened ta' you, Arrows? You got all old.

Oh, really? It's great to see you again, Beat! See, I think I may be in a similar problem. After I talked with my friends, it looks like my age is also part of this weird experiment. Just like you becoming a Shark, I suppose!

....freaky. Aight... I guess I can go wit' that. How's bein' old goin' for you?

Well just because you've never seen it, doesn't me-

[Hold up, what was that first bit? Noise? Players?]

Um, like...what? You like, kind of lost me.

The weird thing is, I don't feel the difference. See... I can remember living through my adult years back home [Except for a few gray patches] and I remember being here in Luceti as if I were this age the whole time. I feel a lot better than I was at that age - wiser and more confident. It's just kinda weird that all of my friends are still teenagers.
