[Tired of all the new feathers yet? Sorry, but here's another one - and he's loud. Very loud. So loud in fact that standing in the middle of the plaza, just about anyone in the vicinity can probably hear him. Why is he loud? Because he woke up in the fountain, soaked, with yellow wings and white cotton pants. He doesn't really realize that last part yet, however.

Once he's floundered his way out of the fountain, he finds a book with his name on it. His full name. Beat throws the journal at the fountain, bouncing it off the stone basin and turning it on.]

--OLD YOU THAT NAME?!

Stupid book. Hate books.

YO, PHONES!! PHOOOOOOOOONES!!! WHERE YOU AT?!

[Neku brought his journal along but he's not bothering to respond back to Beat for now, only focusing on running toward the main plaza. JUST DON'T GO ANYWHERE, DUDE.

It'll be about ten minutes later when Neku finally appears, and as soon as he does he's looking around for him.]

[And what has Beat been doing in those ten minutes? Getting into a lot of trouble. A lot. And screaming more. PHONES, WHY AREN'T YOU PICKING UP YOUR PHONE BOOK!? He eventually gives up, however, and has managed to find his clothes at least. Even if he can't get his shirt on over the stupid wings. At least he has his hat. The hat is v. important.

Oh and now he's yelling again.]

PICK. UP. THE. BOOK. PHONE.

...PHONES!!!!

[Oh Beat. SORRY ABOUT LEAVING YOU HANGING LIKE THAT but he really wanted to come find you. It's easier than trying to explain how to get to the house. Plus it gives Neku time to think of how to explain that he's suddenly about an inch and a half taller and proooobably looks slightly different.

Right after Beat yells for him, Neku is very nonchalantly answering him back as he's walking up behind him. Let's try to start this off calmly.]

Hey.

[Smart plan, Phones. Very smart.

Up until the part where he decided to sneak up on Beat. The guy is so enraptured with the journal that he doesn't even hear Neku coming. Which means he jumps and nearly falls into the fountain again.]

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

Phones?! Man, donchu DO that! You gonna give me a--

[Something is different. Very different. No, sort of different? Beat isn't sure, but he thought he'd been shorter just...uh...a few minutes ago. And...What?]

.......................Huh? Yo, you wearin' different shoes or somethin'?

It's... er, complicated. Even if you only saw me a little while ago, I've been here for two years. So I'm not exactly fifteen anymore.

[Wait. What did he just say?

[But that's not possible! He seriously just saw him a few minutes ago!]

That ain't funny, Phones! We ain't got time for jokes!

Do you see me laughing? It's this place. Time is all screwed up here, among other things. Long story short, we're trapped here. Shiki and Joshua are here too, and Mr. H was for a while but he got sent home a few months ago.

[But that....doesn't....make any sense.

So Shiki, that prissy kid, Coffee Man...? Yo, the hell is this place if they can get us all like this? This ain't no Hell or anythin' is it?

Everything's fine back home, trust me. For now let's go get Shiki to fix your shirt so you can wear it. And maybe she can help me explain things better.

Uh....aight. Yeah. Guess...goin's okay.

Y-yeah. Time is sort of weird here. Back home everything is on pause mode while we're here, apparently. Whenever we're sent back, it's supposed to be at the exact same time we were taken. So just think of it as the Game has been put on hold.
